About Katy wallace
Katy qualified as a Registered Nurse in New Zealand in 1990 and gained experience in Acute Medicine and Neurosciences. s In 1998 she moved to the United Kingdom and there gained international training in plastic surgery, lasers, medical aesthetics and cosmetic dermatology procedures on Harley Street, London. Katy relocated to Melbourne in 2006 and continued to specialise her practice lasers, non-surgical medical aesthetic devices and injectables in cosmetic and dermatology practice.
In 2014 she transitioned in to advanced practice and completed Post Graduate qualifications including a Master of Nursing and is now endorsed as a Nurse Practitioner. This advanced practice knowledge allows her to assess, diagnose, plan care and treat patients with dermatological and cosmetic concerns.
Katy’s experience has led to a well-developed understanding of the skin and medical aesthetics and she believes it is the underlying skin structure which is most important. Her recommended approach to skin health is corrective, supportive and natural. Effective treatment should include planning and a combination of therapies to achieve optimal results.
Katy has a well developed understanding of the skin and aesthetics and performs the following treatments: muscle relaxants, dermal fillers, fat dissolving injections, fraxel dual, vascular laser, Q-switch yag, venus viva, skin needling, skin peels, microdermabrasion, Tixel, Ultraformer, intense pulsed light, laser genesis, pico-second laser, photodynamic therapy, miraDry and skin care. Her recommended approach is combination therapy to treat all skin problems such as acne, ageing or pigmentation and to promote skin health creating a more youthful look.
Katy is an active member of a number of professional groups and continues to upskill and attend conferences to ensure she follows best and safe practice guidelines.
