Katy qualified as a Registered Nurse in New Zealand in 1990 and has a background in acute medicine and neurosciences. In 1998 she moved to the United Kingdom and there gained international training in aesthetic plastic surgery, lasers and cosmetic dermatology procedures on Harley Street, in London.  Katy relocated to Melbourne in 2006 and continued her practice with lasers, non-surgical medical aesthetic devices and cosmetic enhancements in cosmetic and dermatology practice.

In 2014 she transitioned to advanced practice completing post graduate qualifications including a Master of Nursing and is an AHPRA endorsed Nurse Practitioner. This level of advanced practice allows her to assess, diagnose, plan care and treat patients with dermatological and cosmetic concerns autonomously and collaboratively.

With over 20 years of experience in aesthetics and dermatology, Katy has a well-developed understanding of a multifactorial approach to skin disease. What she loves the most about working in dermatology is the combination of specialist advice combined with non-surgical devices or lasers and good skincare in order to obtain the best plan to support her patients’ skin health journey.

Her recommended approach to cosmetic enhancement is corrective, supportive and natural to create a more refreshed youthful look. Effective treatment outcomes will include assessment, planning and a combination of non-surgical therapies, including device-based treatments to achieve optimal results.

Katy is an active member of a number of professional groups and continues to upskill and attend conferences to ensure she follows best and safe practice guidelines.  Katy’s professional memberships include: Australian College of Nurse Practitioners, Australian College of Nursing, Australian Dermatology Nurses Association, British Dermatology Nurses Group, British Association of Cosmetic Nurses.
