ABOUT Georgina Lyons
Dr Georgina Lyons is a highly skilled medical, surgical and cosmetic Dermatologist. She won the prestigious Australasian College of Dermatologists Travelling Scholarship in 2016. This is awarded to the candidate with the highest mark in Australia in the dermatology fellowship exams. Georgina was also awarded the Ken Paver Medal for excellence in Medical Dermatology.
Georgina’s interests include:
- Mole and skin cancer checks
- Skin cancer surgery
- Psoriasis (and biologics)
- Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)
- Paediatric dermatology
- Pigment disorders (including melasma and vitiligo)
- Womens’/vulval dermatology
- Cosmetic dermatology, anti-ageing, and laser procedures
Georgina completed her medical training at the University of Melbourne and the University of Oxford, U.K. in 2008, and graduated with Honours. She undertook her dermatology training in Melbourne (at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, The Royal Children’s Hospital, The Skin and Cancer Foundation, and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre). She also completed a placement at the National Skin Centre in Singapore, gaining valuable experience in the treatment of pigment disorders.
Georgina is a member of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. She is a Consultant Dermatologist at The Alfred Hospital (where she is co-founder of the Dermatology Transplant Clinic for high-risk skin cancer patients), The Royal Children’s Hospital, and The Western Hospital. Georgina has published numerous papers in peer reviewed journals and has presented her research findings at international conferences.

When not at work Georgina enjoys globetrotting, bushwalking, creative writing and spending quality time with her family, friends and two cats!
